The WebspaceExplorer

The file management application found on 1and1's Control Panel does an okay job of managing your files without having to go through an FTP client. It allows you to do the following functions:

• Explore folders and files
• Create and delete files and folders
• Copy and move files and folder
• Rename files and folders
• Upload / download files
• Zip and unzip files and folders

In order to do any of the functions listed above, you have to go through a two step process: 1) Clicking on what you want to do (ex Delete a folder) and 2) Confirming. After you click on an action, a pop-up window appears where you have to do something to complete the task. The pop-up window is alright, but I would've prefered being able to do my task within the browers. Since I use an FTP client for file management 99% of the time, the WebspaceExplorer is somewhat lacking when compared to an FTP client. But to complete basic tasks once in awhile, it's perfectly competent.
